I would call today my last day as an foreign exchange student in the US... just because I WILL SEE MY WONDERFUL FAMILY AGAIN TOMORROW and they will spend two nights here before be continue on our traveling. After 10 months of great experiences and memories that I'll never forget I'm ready to see my family and leave this high school year in America with a smile on my face and an accomplishment that I actually did it! I stayed in a foreign country, a state that I barely knew how to pronounce before I got here and a small town called Hillsboro that I'd never know existed if it wasn't because of my decision to do this. There's been some ups and downs and those days I wished to go home earlier, to my old habits and my friends and family. But all the poeple that I've met here have been the reason I went to school everyday and to keep pushing through the whole year knowing that there's always gonna be a better day adn that it will be worth it in the end. I never thought that I could stay at someone's house where I didn't know the poeple at all, but I challanged myself and did it. And that was the best decision I made last year. I've grown as a person, I'm more independent, I've learned a lot and have experienced things that I'd never would've if it wasn't because of this year. Hillsboro, Illinois will always be my American home. I've made life lasting friendships with some of the coolest people I've ever met and I've had a host family that really cares about me and who always wants my best. Why I will miss Hillsboro will primarily be because of my friends here. You all know who you are and you guys kept me busy and made me laugh everyday. I love you all! <3 And how can I not miss this little town's charm? we've got Greasy's that you can't find anywhere else, we've got the best gossip, seven sisters, Abraham Lincoln watching over us on Main Street, and a High School full of teenage drama haha <3 but also where the best moments are created. I know that this year will be one of the best in my entire life and where my dream of living in America and to actually go to high school in this country came true. Thanks to all my amazing Americans and my family at home for giving me this opportunity! Love youuuuu!! <3 <3 <3
